Secret cannabis farms found in Sydney

May 15, 2008

Two more houses in the Sydney suburb of Blair Athol have been uncovered as secret cannabis farms, taking the total value of drugs seized in the area this week to more than $7 million.

Four houses within a few dozen metres of each other in the south-western suburb have now been raided since the start of the week.

Police raided the third house, on The Kraal Drive, on Wednesday night and allegedly netted cannabis plants worth $1.2 million.

Officers seized almost 300 plants, as well as cut cannabis and hydroponic equipment, police said.

Police swooped on the fourth house at 10am (AEST) on Thursday and found yet another hydroponic set-up.
